Procedures and complications

Every time I meet people that I know, they will ask what happen to your glasses, Did you break it? This is some of common questions I received because they know that I've been using glasses for a long time. So I started to explain that I'm free from glasses anymore. I can see without using anything, glasses or lens. So start to explain that I've undergo a Lasik eye surgery. Some of them know about the surgery very basic and some them don't know anything what is Lasik all about. So here I would like to share what is Lasik procedures and is there any complication after the surgery.

Procedures
Throughout the surgery, you will be awake. You actually know and feel what are the doctor do with your eyes. It sometime scarry because the femtoseconds machine come closer to your eyes. Once you have sit on the reclining chair, a numbing drops will be put into your eyes and once your eyes are fully numb, there will be a special tools to make your eyes open throughout the procedures. So the doctor will ask you to focus on a light to ensure that your eye are remain steady within the procedure. A suction cup will be placed on the surface of you eye and the laser will cut a flap on the protective membrane of the eye. This will allow to manipulative of the cornea. So the laser will start to reconstructive your cornea according to the correct configuration. One eye will take only seconds for this procedure to complete. Once complete, the flap will be restores to its position and it will heal on its own.

Complication
Here I would like to share some complication after the procedure. You may feel burn, water and itch. This is common for everyone after completing this procedures. Your vision are blurred after the procedure and I would recommend you to find someone to drive you home. You can't drive at all after the surgery and the doctor will give a protective guard for you to wear at night. You also need to place an eye drops to help you to overcome the pain such as antibiotic and other medications. For you to have a perfect vision, usually it will take more than 3 month for you to have a perfect vision and for your eyes to stabilize. Some people still need glasses after the procedures. This you need to see your doctor what has happen.

Ok. I'll be seeing you on another post sharing my knowledge and thoughts about Lasik for everyone to think and analyze before making any decision.
